Blueberry Buckle Turn Dash

As a brand ambassador for Michael Miller Fabrics, I am so lucky to be able to sample the latest and greatest from their lines!

My goal with this project was to make a pretty tablecloth that I could use year-round.

I used Beginnings by Michael Miller Fabrics—available in a blue or black colorway. I chose to make the Turn Dash quilt - with some changes, of course! (check the original out here!).

Isn’t this tablecloth inviting? Won’t you join me for some strawberries and a cold ice tea?

What would creating be without tweaking a pattern? Here's what I did:

  • First, I used a 3x3 layout— I reduced the number of blocks from the lap size resulting in a 48” square quilt - great for a small table;

  • Next, I minimized my cutting by taking advantage of the stripes in this line! There are awning strips, little bead-like stripes and border stripes. I fussy cut to eliminate some of the piecing in the main block. Major timesaver!

  • Finally, I changed the setting squares by enlarging the middle piece so that it was the same size as the center square in the main block.

I just love how these small changes create a different look!

How would you like to win a fat quarter pack of the black colorway of the Beginnings line? Follow the rafflecopter link below to be entered—comments eligible until 8/16/19; contest winners must be within United States.

And why did I call it Blueberry Buckle? Guess I was thinking about making one!
